Day 27: Farewell Party

There were two agenda that I have experienced today. The first was eid al-adha celebration. Perhaps some non-Muslims didn’t know yet what is eid al-adha celebration. It is a big day for Muslim that celebrated every 10 Dzulhijjah (Arabic date) to commemorate an important event that experienced by the prophet in ancient times. The Muslim teacher of Pakklong song school invited me and my friend to go to mosque in early morning. We met a lot of Muslim that would pray there.

After praying, we had a big breakfast. The administrator of the mosque provided a lot of free foods for all those who came. The foods were plentiful, varied, and certainly delicious! I like all of the food anyway! 5555+. It was interesting for me because there was not banquets like that in Indonesia. I mean after praying was done, all of people directly go back to their home. Maybe it was because Muslims in Thailand were a minority so that their bonding were very strong. As a minority, they life together in harmony. So nice.
In the afternoon, we went back to Valaya Alongkorn University (VRU) to join the closing ceremony. There was also a big farewell party at that time. The agenda was started with speeches from host university (Ms. Nina), a rector, mentors, and representative of participants. After that, the agenda was continued with the culture performance. It was quiet happy to see my friends showed Indonesian culture though I did not show anything because I had not prepared anything yet. Then the next agenda was certificate submission to all of participants. It was done symbolically by a rector. With it all of participants stated that they have joined SEA Teacher batch 4. In the end, all of buddies came to the front and sang a song entitle “all of me” for us. It touched my heart deeply. You guys are awesome!

It was so sad to know that tomorrow I am going to leave Thailand and go back to Indonesia. However, it must be. Each meeting will have a goodbye. So, that’s all for today. I should pack my bag because tomorrow in early morning I have to go to the airport.
