Counting down two
days to go home. I and my friend came to the classes and said good bye to
students. We asked the students to give an impression about us. We gave them a paper;
they could express whatever impression about us in their mind in form of
sentences or drawing. They were very enthusiast to make it because they felt
comfortable to learn English with us. After done, we gave the students some
souvenirs from Indonesia. we said that we would back to Indonesia tomorrow. You
know what’s their reaction? Their face immediately became sad. They did not
want us to leave Pakklong song school. Some students hugged my tightly. Likewise
with us. It was actually so hard to say good bye to the students. I know one
month is not enough for us to make students understand English language well,
but it is more than enough to make us so close with the students and teachers.
We have tried to do the best here. Our time has run out so that we must go now.
Indeed, all about Pakklong song school will be a good memory in my life. Hopefully
someday I can go here again to meet teachers and students.
Day 23: Suphanburi and Ayutthaya Trip
The school principle invited me and my friend to go to Suphanburi and Ayutthaya. She said
that she wanted to go with us before we back to Indonesia. I cannot say
anything; she is always kind to us. Even she always takes care of us very well
like his daughter. Ok. Let me tell you my one half-day trip to Suphanburi and
Ayutthaya. We went to Suphanburi province at first. From Pakklong song school,
we took an hour to go there. The first place that we visited was the “Dragon
Descendants Museum”. I taught it was enough famous tourism place in Thailand.
The building shape seems like Chinese building that dominated with red and
yellow. There was a giant dragon in the middle. It’s actually a museum whose building
was shaped like a dragon giant as a symbol of China. Inside the museum there is
a history of Chinese civilization and its culture which is shown by using
multimedia experience. Unfortunately, when we came there, the museum was closed.
It was only opened on Wednesday-Sunday. Of course today (Monday) was closed. It
was okay. Although the weather was very hot, we still walked around and took a
lot of photos there.
After that, we continued our trip
to Ayutthaya. We went to floating market first. Unfortunately, when we arrived
there, the market was closed. Then we went to the park (I do not know the name
of the park). It was located close from Sii Ayutthaya university. There were
many elephants there. I and my friend paid 400 baht to ride an elephant. It was
very expensive but on par with the experience we felt. The elephant handler
took us around the park for 50 minutes. As the elephant walked, we felt shaken
on it. We passed another elephant along the road. We also saw the handler gave
the foods to elephant. Those all were very exciting for me. It was my very
first experience to ride an elephant whereas in Indonesia there were many elephants
too. Never mind! Creating a story abroad is definitely different from
Indonesia. It will be an unforgettable memory that I will tell my children later

Day 22: Nakhon Nayok Trip (Day 2)
Today was the second day of Nakhonnayok trip. We went to destination places
that were not far from Jab’s home. The first destination was Ganesha park. There
was a big elephant statue there. Unfortunately, it was quiet cloudy when we arrived
there. We just walked around Ganesha park for a moment. After that, we continued
our trip to the next destination, it was Magha Puja Memorial Buddhist park. There
are approximately more than two thousand ancient Buddha statues which surround
the biggest statue in the middle. All of them have gold color. Furthermore, it
is also located in mountain range that more beautify the view. It is very beautiful
Buddha statues temple. Then our trip today was closed with visiting a café. We bought
some beverage and ice cream there.

Day 21: Nakhon Nayok Trip (Day 1)
We started the trip at 9 am. We went to some destinations
using pick-up car. Wow! It was very wonderful moment. I was so happy to sit in
back because I could see and enjoy the view directly. The first place that we
visited was praying place for Buddhists. Some of us that are Buddhist pray
there, while we that are not Buddhist wait for them. After that, we went to
CRRU school that was not far from the first place. The school building is very
spacious and beautiful. The third place that we visited was Kundanprakanchon
dam. It is very big dam and really beautiful. We walked around the dam and took
many photos there. Then the next destination that we visited was a river. We
played a rafting there. It was very fun. We were divided into two boots. Some
of us jumped from the high place into river. We very enjoyed that moment.
Especially me, because it was my first time to play rafting. Actually there are
a lot of river for rafting in Indonesia, but my first time to play it is in
Thailand. Next time, I want to play rafting again in Indonesia that is more
challenging than here.
Day 20: Teaching Practice Evaluation
Today was an important day. My field supervisor from VRU (Ms.
Nit) observed me today. Not only observed, she also evaluated and scored my teaching practice. She came to Pakklong song school with Ms. Nina at 9 pm.
When they were coming to my classroom, I was starting the class and having a
brainstorming. Actually I felt a little bit nervous, but I could handle it well. I taught about ‘action verb’ today. I chose that topic because I would
like students to be familiar with some action verbs before coming up to the
next topic (present tense). Moreover, the activity that I used in the
presentation was using flashcard visualization, using ‘Mime game’ in the
practice activity, and using crossword for production. After class ended, Ms.
Nit and Ms. Nina gave me some feedbacks about my teaching practicece. They said
to me,” there isn’t a perfect teaching”. So, below are some feedbacks of my
teaching practice:
Day 19: Academic Day
Happy academic day! Students
did not come to school today because all of teacher and some students went to
Kongsong school to celebrate academic day. Do you know academic day? It was an
event held by education government and joined by some schools in Pathum Thani
region. Each school had one bazaar that was decorated beautifully to show their
school identity and creativity. Moreover, each school also had a chance to show
the students’ art performance in front of audiences. Some students performed
traditional dance, modern dance, singing, pantomime, etc. While watching the show,
everyone could see and walk from one bazaar to another bazaar. No exception the
head of education government; he also visited from one bazaar to another
bazaar. Besides, there was also some bazaar that sold food and beverage. It was
quiet big event that was presented by a lot of people.

Day 17: Playing with Kindergarten Students
It
was very happy day. I did not have teaching schedule today but I changed the
kindergarten teacher because she did not come to the class. The principle school
asked me “you just accompany students to play and make shapes using candles”. I
directly said “with my pleasure, mam”. Playing with children is always fun for
me. They are very cute and adorable. Although I could not communicate with the
students orally, I still enjoyed to play with them. Likewise, they were also very
happy to play with me.
Furthermore, I did not only
accompany students to play, but I also gave them some examples of shape such as
snake, star, fish, etc. The students then make their own shapes with their own
creativity. I let the students to play and create whatever they like because it
helped them to develop their creativity, express their thoughts, and solve the
problems. Those were part of learning process. When I asked them about what
they made (using Thai language), they tried to answer it as well. Even most of
them did not only answer with a word, but they also explained what they made
with some sentences. God job, kids!
