Day 1: The Journey Begins

Today I and my team from UII go to the airport in early morning. We have a flight schedule at 8.45 am. It means that two hours before flight, we should be there for check-in. As you can see in the picture, it looks so happy. But actually, besides that, we (especially me) feel a little bit nervous because we have not prepared well the lesson plan, teaching method, etc. On the other hand, we believe that everything is going to be okay. As a pre-service teacher, we have learned many things about lesson plan, teaching methodology, classroom management, etc. so that we do not need to be afraid. We believe that this is going to be okay. So, it is time to start our journey.

Finally, we landed safely in Kuala Lumpur airport at 11 pm. After arriving the airport, we immediately arrange the immigration, passport, and baggage. It takes a long time because the queue of immigration was very long. But after an hour, we already arrange the immigration and baggage. After that, we look for some foods because the queue made us felt so hungry.

We wait more than 9 hours for the next flight to Bangkok in Kuala Lumpur Airport. We walked around the airport during waiting. After a very long wait, we finally take off to Don Mueang airport Bangkok at 8.30 pm and landed safely at 11.30 pm. OMG! It was a midnight and we should wait for our host university to pick us up until morning! We slept in the Donmueang airport all night! That sound very sad, but it is no problem for us. Maybe it will be memorable thing one day.

So, here we are. We are going to learn many things through this program. We are students of English language education (PBI). As a tagline of PBI UII, “learning beyond classroom walls”. Learning could be done everywhere and every time, no matter what. We try to do our best here. We will learn and share our teacher experience to others one day whenever possible. Although all of us will be separated in the different universities in Thailand, we hope that we still keep in touch and help each other. Bismillah…
