Day 5: The Second Observation

My schedule in the school today was still observe the students. Today I did not observe all day because the students do the rehearsal for mother’s day tomorrow. I just observed one class today. It was grade 1-2. From observation today, I could see how teacher who was not English major taught English subject to students. The activity that teacher used was not communicative, even she did not include presentation and production activity. In short, teacher only wrote 5 sentences about hobby on whiteboard, then she asked students to write on their own book. When students finished it, teacher checked students' work while students was watching video that played by teacher. But the video was not related to lesson topic. 

Aniway, out of observation, today I felt closer to students. I was happy to meet them. Likewise with them; they were very enthusiastic to meet me. Even some students shaked my hands and hugged me. I thought that I have gained bond with students. It would make me easier to manage them later. I just need to prepare the lesson plan and teaching method that are appropriate for students.

In addition, I found a little thing that opened my eyes widely. In grade 2, there were two students who were slightly 'different' from the others. They were a girl student with disabilities and a boy student with ADHD. Both of them caught my attention deeply. In the class, they often look for an attention of me. I thought they were very happy to be loved. When I sat down in their class, I saw that they always ignore teacher and only do whatever they want. Luckily, they kept doing school work, not doing other things. When they finished their work, they immediately showed the results of their work to the teacher. They just wanted to be noticed so that they showed their work to teacher. Therefore, a teacher should always support and reward them for everything they have done. Although they were different from others, it does not mean that they are treated differently from others. Even they should be treated better than others, because it is actually what they need.
