Day 16: Teacher Should be Patience

I taught class 1 and 2 all day because the teacher did not come to the school. Oh my God! I need more patience to teach them. I was very difficult to manage them. I just taught them the song in the title “If you’re happy and you know it”. I expected that they were able to come with me to sing together. But it was not fit with the reality.

Ok. Let me tell you from the beginning. When I came to the class, they look busy playing. They did not directly say “stand up please”. Fyi, “stand up please” is a welcome word for teacher who just entered the class, then followed by greeting. Unfortunately, when I entered to the class 1 and 2, the students ignored me. They were still busy until I said “stand up please”. It was just a beginning. My patience was re-tested at the time the learning process was running. At first, I showed the song video to students. They seem excited at that time. However, when I asked them to write the song lyric in their book, they did not do it. None of the students would do it. They finally did it after I gave them a lure of pencil. I said that I would give them a pencil when they finished the writing

Therefore, we should be patience. Not all of our expectation are fit to the reality. Sometimes, there are some barriers in teaching-learning activity. It is one of learning process. Furthermore, we should prepare everything well such as the lesson plan, teaching material, and media. Perhaps we also need to prepare plan B just in case if plan A do not work
